Patents
The amended law dated 20 July 1992 governs the legal regime of patents in Luxembourg. Further to article 4 of this law, the following conditions should be met in order that an invention obtains a patent :
- this invention can be considered as a new invention ;
- such new invention implicates a resourceful activity ;
- that can potentially be industrialized
Any inventor that wishs to gain the protection from the issue of a patent in respect of one of its creation can send such request to :
- the Luxembourg Ministry of Economy and External Trade that may deliver a Luxembourg patent;
- the OEB (Office Européen des Brevets) that may deliver a European Luxembourg patent;
- the OMPI (Organisation Mondiale de la Propriété Intelectuelle) that may deliver whether a European patent or a Luxembourg Patent.
